The main purpose of this study was to examine the record filing and retrieval system at Ssuubiryo Financial Services so as to know the technicalities they are facing and afterwards to design an improved records filing and retrieval system. The motive of the study was to assess the current records filing and retrieval system of Ssuubiryo Financial services at Ben Kiwanuka
Street, third floor Justin Arcade. The objectives of the study were; To find out the types of records created at Ssuubiryo financial services, To assess the records filing and retrieval system at Ssuubiryo financial services, To establish the challenges associated with the current records filing and retrieval system at Ssuubiryo financial services, To establish requirements needed for designing an ideal filing and retrieval system and, To design a record filing and retrieval system for records retrieval at Ssuubiryo financial services.
The study presented the research design, study population, sample size and the selection criteria, sampling techniques, data collection methods and instruments, validity and reliability, procedure of data collection, data analysis and measurement of variables and ethical consideration. The study further revealed that a filing and retrieval system is an essential component of any organization because it ensures effectiveness and efficiency in the deliverance of any financial
institution objective.
According to the study, the ease of filing and retrieval is essential in an organization if it is to record success because the today activities of the Organization depend entirely on proper records management. For records to be kept, maintained and used, there is a need for proper filing so that they can be easily retrieved. The filing and retrieval process forms a key component of ensuring effectiveness and efficiency in delivery of a financial institution objective.
