    Abstract
    the study investigated the relationship between sports facilities and sports participation in Makerere University. Data was collected using qualitative methods. The study revealed that Makerere university community participates in a number of sports such as football athletics, squash, swimming , rugby, netball among others with a variety of sports facilities. It revealed that the more the respondents were made aware of the sports facilities the more they got involved in the various sports. Hence sports facilities have a significant effect on sports participation among students
