Abstract
The study entitled assessing factors influencing the saving habits of Makerere University students for the intake 2020/2021 post covid-19 pandemic. A case study of school of statistics and planning. The study had the following objectives to analyze the relationship between financial literacy and saving habits among Makerere University students post COVID-19, to investigate the relationship between self- control and saving habits among Makerere University students post COVID-19, to examine the relationship between parental socialization and saving habits among Makerere University students post COVID-19 and lastly to investigate the relationship between peer influence and saving habits among Makerere University students post COVID-19. A total of 100 students were interviewed.
It was revealed that financial literacy significantly influenced saving habit of Makerere University students, other factors that were found to influence saving habits included parental socialization, peer influence, self-control and upkeep.
