Sexual satisfaction, sexual depression, motivation to avoid risky sex and risky sexual behavior
Abstract
The study entitled Sexual Satisfaction, Sexual Depression, Motivation to Avoid Risky Sex and Risky Sexual Behavior among students in Makerere University, the study was correlational in design where a total of 59 students were interviewed. The study aimed at examining the relationship between sexual depression, motivation to avoid risky sex, and risky sexual behaviour. The results of the study showed that sexual depression is positively related to risky sexual behaviour. Motivation to avoid risky sex negatively related to risky sexual behaviour, also sexual satisfaction was negatively related to risky sexual behaviour. The relationship between motivation to avoid risky sex and sexual depression was negative but non-significant. Also sexual depression was found to influence sexual satisfaction positively, lastly it was found that sexual satisfaction positively influenced motivation to avoid risky sex.
