Abstract
Due to limited power consumption, packet loss, or dense networks, various challenges may emerge during drone operation, making the handover process critical for effective data transfer. The challenge of handover is getting more significant while UAVs are deployed in the networks. The utilization of the UAVs results to more frequent initiation of a handover procedure. This report focuses on an adaptation of the actual level of hysteresis margin according to the interference levels in the cell. The hysteresis margin is commonly used parameter for elimination of handovers that could fail. Evaluations in terms of spectral efficiency, number of successful handovers and handover success rate are carried out. The results show significant reduction in the number of failed handovers.
