dc.description.abstractThe study investigated in the characterization of morality in kinyankore folktales about child upbringing in western region of Uganda specifically among the Banyankore. The major objective of the study was to establish the extent to which characters are presented in folktales, why the folktales were emphasized among the Banyankore, how these folktales were used to bring up the child morally upright, to provide findings and give recommendations for the study, and more so look at the areas that can be aimed at for further reseach proposals. To achieve the above objectives, the researcher collected primary data and secondary data. A sample of ten folktales was used to carry out the research, to collect and translate folktales about moral upbringing of children, analyse folktales in order to understand how they were used to bring up the child and also make recommendationsabout how these folktales can be utilized in education and social guidance today.en_US
