Organizational politics, employee engagement and turnover intentions among health workers in Mulago Hospital
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the Organizational politics, Employee Engagement and Turnover Intentions among Health workers in Mulago Hospital. The study intended to achieve the following objectives; to examine the relationship between organizational politics and employee engagement among health workers at Mulago Hospital, to examine the relationship between organizational engagement and turnover intentions among health workers at Mulago Hospital, to examine the relationship between organizational politics and turnover intentions among Health workers at Mulago Hospital. The study used 40. Data was collected using self-administered questionnaire and later analyzed using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Scientists) version 26. It has been found that employee engagement at Mulago Hospital is significantly influenced by Organizational politics, where positive organizational politics leads to increased vigor among employees while negative organizational politics leads to less dedication and less absorption thus leading to less engagement. it has also been shown that there is a negative significant relationship between employee engagement and turnover intentions, as less vigor, dedication and absorption cause an employees of Mulago to seek other jobs. Conclusively it has been found that there is a negative relationship between turnover intentions and organizational politics which means that an increase in positive organizational politics will cause less turnover intentions.
