A program that computes the mean, variance and standard deviation of the Bernoulli, Binomial, Poisson, Geometric, Hypergeometric and Negative Binomial distributions.
Abstract
This research project aimed to address the challenges faced by statisticians in calculating means, variances, and standard deviations for different probability distributions. The current manual approach using pen, paper, and calculators is both time-consuming and prone to errors. The primary objective was to develop a dedicated application to streamline these calculations. The research led to the creation of an application designed to offer significant advantages: Time Efficiency: The application drastically reduces the time required for calculations, enabling statisticians to allocate more time to data analysis. Accuracy: By automating calculations, the application enhances the accuracy of results, minimizing the potential for human errors. Paperwork Reduction: Going digital reduces the reliance on physical paperwork, leading to a more environmentally friendly and organized workflow. Accessibility: The system is designed to be user-friendly, requiring minimal hardware, functioning offline, and catering to statisticians of varying skill levels. In summary, this research project successfully developed a user-friendly application that revolutionizes the way statisticians calculate essential parameters for probability distributions. By saving time, improving accuracy, and reducing paperwork, the application offers valuable tools to statisticians, ultimately enhancing their work in the field of statistics.
