Impact of technology on creativity on graphics design at Margret Trowel School of Industrial and Fine Art.
Abstract
Traditional tools and methods are being replaced by advanced technology designed to make the design process easier, smoother and to allow for greater creativity as well, a design professional’s work is also now much easier because of advanced tech tools that they can use today. Not only that, they also allow professionals be more productive. An example of this is proofing tools which can help clients and designers to make the review process of designs to be faster. Choosing the right colors is also important for the design professional. This is what makes the job more fun. With today’s technology, designers can have access to limitless choices of colors and shades that they can mix and match for their designs. A tool called coolers can help designers pick the best colors. Fast forward to the 1900s when posters became a form of expressions, during the 1940s, graphic design appeared in propaganda posters of the era, such as the “We Can Do It” poster with Rosie the riveter. Slogans were short, to the point, and added to a graphic that set the tone. As technology began to change and become available to more people, the entire industry that would become known as graphic design began to emerge.
