The perception in communication design towards abstract art at Margaret Trowl School of Industrial and Fine Arts in Makerere Univeraity
Abstract
This research report is about perception in communication design towards abstract art at
Margaret Trowel School of Industrial and Fine Arts in Makerere University. The study
provided the importance of understanding art and its concept.
Many art students have different perceptions towards abstract act and different painterly ideas
and this will ponder a question, do they understand what abstract is, which ideas are behind the
artwork.
Therefore, this study seeks to contribute to the conception of abstract art at Margaret Trowel
School of Industrial and Fine Arts. The study has three objectives namely,
1. To examine the ideas behind Abstract art
2. To examine the role of motor system perception of visual arts
3. To identify the contradictions of Abstract expression
The purpose of this study is an attempt to solve a primarily creative problem on the perception
of abstract art among artists in Margaret trowel school of Fine art, Makerere University
In the study both qualitative and quantitative approaches of obtaining information was used,
questionnaire, interview guides and observation was used as instruments to obtain data.
Experimental and historical research design was also used.
