The role of information technology on business performance in selected business enterprises in Kawempe Division Kampala, Uganda
Abstract
The main objective of the study was the role of technology on business performance.
The study also adopted associational and cross-sectional survey where a self-administered
questionnaire was used to collect data. The study had a large percentage of males than
females (58.6%), the level of education was not statistically significant with the profitability
of the business (p=0.058), there is a significant relationship between length of the business
using IT and profitability of the business as (p=0.003), there is no significant relationship
between sex of the business owner using IT and profitability of the business (0.0859).
Education level of people using IT had no effect on business performance. Furthermore, the
length of the business using IT had effect on the business performance. Sex of the business
owner had no effect on the business performance. The researcher recommended that
business should adopt the use of IT since the length of time the business has been using IT
affects business performance.
