    Abstract
The study aimed at designing an information dissemination system for Kampala Library and Information Centre and the objectives were; To identify the information materials and users at Kampala Library and Information Centre, to establish how information is disseminated at Kampala Library and Information Centre, to find out the challenges faced while disseminating information at Kampala Library and Information Centre and to design an information dissemination system for Kampala Library and Information Centre. The study employed a case study research design while using both qualitative and quantitative research approaches in collecting data. The researchers used various data collection methods such as observation, interview, and questionnaire and document analysis to acquire data for the project. The researchers sampled 4 library staff out of 5 and 28 library users out of 30 who participated in the study. The study revealed that currently Kampala Library and Information Centre uses traditional and manual means to disseminate information to the public such as notice boards, display on shelves, phone calls. These methods are prone to challenges such as slow retrieval of information at the library, majority of the respondents recommended that the system should help to effectively disseminate information to the library users and public at large.
