    Influence of social media on teaching and learning at MTSIFA

    Abstract
    The purpose of this study is to identify the types of social media used at MTISFA, to assess the level of social media use by students at MTSIFA, establish, determine how social media can be used in practical subjects and Establish the application of social media on to the teaching and learning at MTSIFA and in particular ‘its understanding in development of ideas and critics in the context of academia / professional practices. At MTSIFA and Makerere at large, art students or art lecturers involved in art practices find it a bit challenge to effectively adopt to online teaching and learning due to a number of reasons though there was even a mandatory transfer from the normal learning to the online study in the lock down period due to COVID 19 pandemic. Social media could be one the best alternative to enhance the online learning to accompany the created platforms of learning like MUELE, But to note a problem is the challenge of the studentsnot acquiring tools like computers smart phones, tablets to effectively access these platforms.
