Abstract
The study aimed at establishing the relationship between Stress and Employee Performance. The study objectives were to examine the level of stress among employees, examine the level of Job Performance and examining the relationship between stress and employee performance. The study was carried out among employees of Sai Pai Institute of Technology and Management among whom a sample of 80 respondents was selected using convenience non random sampling technique.
A correlation research design was used during the study to enable the researcher to get detailed information in examine the relationship between the study variables. Standardlized self-administered questionnaires were used to gather data analysed using the statistical package for social scientists whereby frequency percentage tables were used to analyse biographic data and Pearson correlation were employed in examining the relationship between the study variables. The study findings revealed that there is no significant relationship between Stress and Employee Performance, that is, (P= 0.056>0.05). As a recommendation, personnel managers at Sai Pai Institute of Technology and Management ought to inculcate within their agenda Stress Management Programs to enable employees keep focused in a stress free work environment, if job performance is to be kept at standard levels.
