Abstract

Exploring the significance of images in Lango folktales. Images play a significant role in folktales, contributing to the overall narrative experience and enhancing reader engagement. This research report investigates the multifaceted nature of images in folktales, aiming to shed light on their impact, symbolism, and cultural signifance. Employing a multidimensional analysis, we examine a diverse collection of folktales from different cultural contexts, exploring the visual elements within these stories and their relationships with the accompanying textual content. The research adopts a qualitative approach, combining literary analysis with cultural studies and visual semiotics. Our methodology involves a meticulous examination of selected folktales, paying particular attention to the visual imagery employed within the narrative. We analyze the role of illustrations, drawings, and other forms of visual representation, deciphering their contributions to character development, plot progression, and the transmission of cultural values. Additionally, the report explores the impact of images on reader engagement and interpretation of folktales. Through a combination of reader response theory and empirical research methods, we examined how different readers perceive and interact with the visual elements within folktales.
