Abstract
This project explores the depiction of children in Ankole myths and folktales, aiming to illuminate cultural attitudes and values surrounding childhood in this Ugandan region particularly .Through an analysis of selected myths and folktales, this study examines the roles, characteristics, and treatment of children within Ankole's storytelling tradition. By delving into these narratives, the project seeks to offer insights into the societal perceptions of children, their agency, and their significance within the culture of Ankole. The findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the interplay between folklore, identity, and childhood in the Ankole region, portraying more light on the complexities of cultural representation and transmission across generations.
