This comprehensive project report details the development and implementation of A Stock Management System designed to revolutionize inventory management in Kampala's rapidly evolving mattress industry. Utilizing the Com Foam Mattress Industry as a case study, this system addresses significant challenges posed by traditional stock management methods. These conventional methods, such as manual tracking and spreadsheet-based systems, are plagued by inherent limitations that hinder operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. They lead to a myriad of issues including stockouts, overstocking, inaccurate data management, and inefficient decision-making processes, ultimately impacting business profitability and customer service adversely. To tackle these challenges, the project adopted a rigorous mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative research techniques. Comprehensive data were collected through meticulously designed surveys, in-depth interviews with industry experts, and direct observations at the Com Foam Mattress Business. The development of the system leveraged advanced technologies, predictive analytics and automated inventory adjustments. The system provides real-time insights, automates complex inventory tasks, and enhances decision-making capabilities, thereby increasing accuracy, efficiency, and profitability The system's architecture was intricately designed to integrate seamlessly with existing POS and ERP systems, ensuring real-time data synchronization and operational continuity. In conclusion, the research project led to the development of the platform which can help in inventory management of the mattress businesses in Kampala by leveraging real-time data, accurate tracking of mattress stock levels and streamlining supply chain. Ultimately, the system enhances efficiency, supports business growth and boosts customer satisfaction by ensuring timely availability of products.
