    Abstract
This research aims to clearly bring out the different types of imagery in Lango proverbs about kinship. Imagery is a very vital part of any literary work whether written or said or even spoken. It is the central point where meaning of a particular writing or utterance originates. there is mo meaning made without imagery created first. It is through creation of images that meaning is developed in Lango proverbs as the study demands. There are different forms of imagery. They include visual imagery, olfactory imagery and tactile imagery. Much observation was made in the field before conclusion on the connection between imagery and meanings in these Lango proverbs. Images involve cognitive interpretation thus creation of pictures to make meanings out of these proverbs and that is where this research work focuses.
