The form and function of rhetorical devices in proverbial expression: a study of selected proverbs of the Iteso

Abstract

This thesis explores how rhetorical devices are used in proverbs with special reference to the selected proverbs from the Iteso of eastern Uganda. To establish this, the researcher interacted with elderly people of Teso of above 40 years. Some of the methods used to collect data were; questionnaires, observations, interviews and internet search. The collected data was then subjected under thorough analysis with reference to various scholars who also carried out research related to the topic that this research handles. Findings from research were then used to make conclusions and recommendations.
