The Relationship between Social Capital, Employee Engagement and Job Performance in Uganda
Abstract
The main purpose of this research was to discover the relationship between social capital, employee engagement and job performance among civil servants. Additionally, the objectives of the study were to find out whether there is a significant relationship between social capital and employee engagement, to find out whether employee engagement and job performance are significantly related and to examine the relationship between social capital and job performance.
The study deployed a correlation research design to assess the relationship between social capital employee engagement, and job performance. Data was presented into statistical information using Statistical Package for Social Scientists (SPSS) and Pearson Product Moment, Correlation Coefficient (r) to find out whether the variables were correlating. Therefore, the study observed, concluded and highlight that, there was no significant relationship between social capital and employee engagement. The study also discovered that employee engagement and job performance are not significantly related. Finally, the study showed that social capital and job performance among civil servants is not significantly related.
