Abstract
This study investigated the wound-healing properties of Coleus hadiensis extracts, comparing the efficacy of aqueous and ethanolic used as solvent medium. Phytochemical analysis revealed distinct profiles, with aqueous extracts exhibiting higher phenolic and tannin content, while ethanolic extracts contained elevated terpenoids. Wound closure rates were significantly enhanced in aqueous extract-treated groups, correlating with increased phenolic and tannin concentrations. Notably, ethanolic extracts demonstrated moderate wound-healing effects, potentially attributed to terpenoid-mediated mechanisms. These findings validate traditional medicinal applications of Coleus hadiensis and suggest its potential as a natural wound-healing agent. Future research should focus on bioactive compound standardization, formulation optimization, and mechanistic studies to elucidate the therapeutic potential of Coleus hadiensis in wound healing.
