There is a great demand for Money lender’s application such as an online loan application because many financial institutions in Uganda are shifting from the traditional manual system to the use of ICT in the financial sector. Existing online systems have many limitations that hinder open access to money lenders and potential clients, yet there are technologies in place which can enable it. It is upon this background that we undertook this project with the objective of developing a money lenders mobile application to connect the various stakeholders and develop a culture of easy access to money lenders and potential clients to diversify the financial sector in Uganda. During the system requirements elicitation phase, qualitative and quantitative data was collected through studying documentation, brainstorming, interviews and questionnaires. The system was implemented using a number of tools and technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript. Some desirable features were suggested for inclusion on the moneylender’s mobile application such as dynamic search for potential clients, creation of user account profiles, feedback generation, responsiveness to mobile devices, resource reviews, approvals, proper categorization of collateral security, free access with low bandwidth, among others. The logical design and physical design was done and the system was implemented with all the suggested features. An early system prototype was installed on an Android phone for user testing and validation. It is highly recommended that the Moneylender’s in the financial sector embrace the system to make their contribution in order to access Uganda’s next top Moneylender’s Mobile Application.en_US
