Abstract
This project presents the development of an IoT-based vehicle monitoring system using OBD2 technology. The system collects diagnostic data from a vehicle’s ECU, transmits it using an ESP32 microcontroller via a mobile interface, and offers features such as real-time monitoring, trip tracking, and fault alerts. A hybrid methodology was adopted combining object-oriented design and agile principles. Data was stored in the cloud via Supabase. Testing showed successful data acquisition, user-friendly interfaces, and reliable fault detection. The project bridges a gap in vehicle diagnostics and smart mobility in Uganda.
