Abstract
The purpose of the project was to develop a QR code-based patient feedback system for Nakasero Hospital. The objectives were to: identify and document patients provide feedback channels at Nakasero Hospital and their limitations; analyze and enhance the security, confidentiality, and integrity of patient feedback channels through the QR code system; identify requirements for developing a patient feedback system using QR code; develop a patient feedback system using QR code at Nakasero Hospital; test and validate the patient feedback system. A qualitative research design was employed, integrating both qualitative and quantitative research approaches for data collection. Data was gathered through face-to-face interviews and observation methods. Stratified random sampling was used, selecting 18 respondents who participated in the project. The project identified that the types of feedback provided by patients included comments on clinical services, administrative processes, and interactions with staff and facilities. Challenges with the existing feedback collection methods included inefficiency, limited accessibility, low participation rates, and a lack of real-time data. The requirements for the QR code-based patient feedback system project at Nakasero Hospital were gathered through various methods. Interview guides were used to obtain information from hospital staff, including ten senior staff members, and online questionnaires were distributed to patients, with a total of 300 responses collected. The system was designed using several diagrams for clarity and structure: Data Flow Diagrams (DFDs), Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs), and Use Case Diagrams for the process model and sequence Diagrams. Implementation involved using frameworks such as Laravel and Flutter, with Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) for the backend and Dart for the frontend. The developed system was tested and validated using an online validation tool, and the results indicated that it is adequate to address the problem effectively. In conclusion, the primary goal of development the QR code-based patient feedback system at Nakasero Hospital was to enhance patient engagement and improve service delivery, and this objective was successfully achieved. The system caters to different users, including patients, hospital staff, and administrators, each with their respective login sessions and permission.
