    Abstract
This study reviews preservation of the audio visual records at Uganda Broadcasting Corporation. the rationale of such review rests on the observation that although audiovisual records constitute a vital information resource in such institutions, they are often not adequately preserved due to several challenges such as lack of technical expertise, limited training and funding capacity, physical deterioration of materials, lack of legal statuses towards audio visual materials, lack of technological awareness on preservation methods and shortage of staffing among others.
