Determination of a suitable set of raw materials required for the formulation of a low alkali cement

This report contains a series of activities that were carried out in the determination of a suitable set of raw material required for the formulation of a low alkali cement. It involved selecting raw materials and machinery to use for the project. The raw materials were tasted for composition using the XRF machine. Different combinations of raw materials of known chemical composition were made. Percentages of raw materials were adjusted and the composition of the raw mix was monitored. The combination with all component composition in range and a sodium equivalent less than 0.6 was chosen and this combination gives a suitable set of raw materials for formulation of low alkali cement.
