This documentation contains a detailed description of the development of an Automated Power Monitoring And Management System (APMMS) that enables users to view the real time consumption trends of appliances, control appliances remotely and timing them automatically.
The system development life cycles were observed and followed to assist in the successful development of this system, starting from requirements collection and specification to system validation and testing.
Questionnaires were used during data collection .the collected data aided in coming up with concrete requirements after performing a data analysis on the collected data.
The implementation phase was carried out using various technologies such as (PHP, MYSQL, JavaScript and HTML) for the web interface and (Python, C++) for the embedded system assisted by IDEs like Arduino, Pycharm for program code editing.
The project undertaken was generally a success since it achieved most of what was expected.
