    Occupational stress and employee performance among Kayunga local government employees

    Abstract
    The study investigated the relationship between occupational stress and employee performance of employees of Kayunga Local Government. The study intended to achieve the following objectives; To find out the relationship between occupational stress and employee performance and to find out the causes of stress in the work place. A correlation study design was used in the study to establish the relationship between occupational stress and employee performance of employees of Kayunga Local Government. The study used a sample of 60 respondents who were adopted using a simple random sampling technique. Data was collected using self-administered questionnaires and later analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Scientists version 20. The findings show that there is a significant positive relationship between occupational stress and employee performance since (r=353**, p=0.006, <0.01). Conclusively, this implies that Occupational stress influences high performance among the employees of Kayunga Local Government.
