    Occupational stress and job performance among nurses of Nsambya Hospital

    Abstract
    The study investigated the relationship between occupational stress and job performance among nurses at Nsambya Hospital. The study aimed to achieve the following objectives; To examine the relationship between occupational stress and job performance among nurses. A correlation study design was used in the study to establish the relationship between occupational stress and job performance among nurses at Nsambya Hospital. The study used a sample of 50 respondents who were obtained using simple random sampling technique. Data was collected using self-administered questionnaires and later analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Scientists version 20. The findings show that there is a significant negative relationship between occupational stress and job performance since (p=.002< 0.01 at r=-.421**) in conclusion, this implies that presence or increase in occupational stress among nurses leads to a decrease in job performance among nurses at Nsambya Hospital.
