Assessing the use of drones in inspections of property valuation for tax assessment
Abstract
ABSTRACT
Chapter one entailed the background, problem statement, main and specific objectives of the research study. The aim of the study was to assess the use of drones in inspections of property valuation for tax assessment. In chapter two, discussions about property rating and drones/UAVs were explored. Chapter three presented the methods adopted in achieving the results of the study which included a descriptive survey based on documents and acquiring spatial images using a drone.
The drone was flown over the study area measuring 28 acres located in Makerere - Kikoni. The high spatial resolution UAV images obtained provided an up to date representation of the study area as discussed in chapter four. Chapter five presented the conclusions and recommendations. Based on the findings, using drones in property rating is applicable to aid the valuer’s work and it would be necessary for local governments to consider using drones for property rating purposes.
