    Socioeconomic status, social support and anxiety among expecting mothers

    Abstract
    Expecting mothers however have different economic status and receive different levels of social support which leads to different levels of anxiety among them. First mothers especially experience high levels of anxiety and they need special socioeconomic support since they have many questions and are worried about how their body is responding to the antenatal changes (Timmermans et al, 2011). The objectives of the study were to assess the relationship between socioeconomic status and anxiety examine the relationship between the socioeconomic status and social support and the relationship between social support and anxiety in expecting mother, the study used quantitative study of research with a sample study of 120 expecting mothers the scope of study was a hospital. The instruments of the data collection used interview questionnaires hypotheses were analyzed by using the Statistical Package for Social package for the social sciences (SPSS). Descriptive statistics namely frequency, percentage distributions and means will be used to present patterns in the data and a Pearson correlation data will be used to test study hypotheses. There was a relationship between socioeconomic status and anxiety in expecting mothers however there was no significant relationship both socioeconomic status and social support in expecting mothers and social support and anxiety in expecting mothers 1
