    A past paper index for Mbogo Mixed Secondary School

    Abstract
    The purpose of this project was to design and develop an online past paper index for Mbogo mixed SS that will ease the storage and retrieval of the past papers. The objectives of the project were to Assess how Mbogo Mixed Secondary School currently indexes their past papers, Determine the challenges faced in the management of past papers at Mbogo Mixed SS, Determine the requirements necessary for Indexing Past Papers at Mbogo Mixed SS, Design and develop a pat paper index for Mbogo Mixed SS as to manage the past papers at Mbogo. The study used a case study research design and a qualitative research approach was used. During data collection, document analyses method, observation and interview methods were used to collect data in order to clearly describe the situation. A sample of 150 respondents was considered which comprised of both library staffs from all the library departments and users of the library where by only 148 responded. Stratified sampling techniques, judgmental sampling and accidental sampling techniques were the sampling methods used to determine the sample size. Findings from the study revealed that Mbogo mixed SS library still uses manual methods to carry out indexing is less used at library, there is need for compatible and user friendly systems, and also a need to design and develop an online past paper index which can reach out to a wider audience. The study concluded that, methods used for indexing at Mbogo mixed SS library should be revised, methods like following storage procedures and trying to develop an online system should be adopted, compatible and user friendly systems should be used and finally an online past paper index should be designed and developed in order to reach out to a wider population. The study recommended that, the library should revised the indexing methods used, adopt the use of an online past paper index, use the compatible and user friendly system and should implement a designed and developed online index
