Data collection and analysis has always been an important aspect in decision making in most institutions. However many institutions most especially Micro-finance institutions are experiencing delays when it comes to this area. This is because many of them take data collection and analysis for granted and they instead carryout estimation of results.Currently, the data is being collected using tools such as papers, hand-held devices like phones and the results are uploaded to the institution websites after data analysis. This does not only lead to a lot of time wasted but also contributes to data loss and inaccuracy. With the advancement of mobile technology, the demand for advanced and mobile phone based methods of collecting data have increased and therefore researchers have been devoted to study how this technology can improve the data collection process.
The Main objective of the project is to develop an Automated real time data application system that will increase the efficiency of data collection and analysis in Micro-finance Institutions by assisting them to collect and analyze information about clients seeking loans in their institutions.
This involved a systematic study of the existing systems through data collection methods such as
questionnaires, interviews and literature review.
In order to come to the realization of project main objective, different designs of the proposed system were created i.e. Use case diagram, Class diagram and state diagram. This was followed by the actual implementation using the different development environments i.e. Android studio and web-based software software. The system was put under several tests and validations to check for any errors and malfunctions.
