    Abstract
    The research is comprised of five chapters which shall offer essential material on various aspects of the research. Chapter one encompasses the general introduction of the study, the background of the study, the general and specific objectives which are ideal for all the aspects of this report. This chapter also brings out the problem that ought to be researched, the scope of the study and points out the significance of the study. Chapter two contains the literature review from different articles, textbooks and scholarly documents by different authors that are related to this research in one way or another. Discussion of the literature by the researcher is also part and parcel of this chapter. This chapter brings forth the clear description of slum development, why people settle in those areas, points out the providers for services, why slum development and its implications on the value of properties and the Strategies that can be employed to curb the negative impacts
