    Perceived social support, peer pressure and self esteem among adolescents in Rukungiri District

    Abstract
    The study aimed at examining the relationship between Perceived Social support, Peer pressure and self esteem among Adolescents. A sample of 100 adolescents between 15 to 20 years of ages both girls and boys within Rukungiri District were obtained. Data was collected using a combination of self administered questionnaires for assessing Perceived Social Support, Peer Pressure and Self esteem among adolescents. Data was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) specifically Pearson product moment correlation. Findings indicated that there was a significant relationship between Perceived social support and peer pressure among adolescents, there was also a significant relationship between Perceived Social Support and Self Esteem among adolescents, and there was also a positive significant relationship between Peer Pressure and Self Esteem among adolescents. This study recommends that parents should support their children emotionally and academically while rising them up
