dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between occupational stress, employee engagement and job performance among employees from Tropical Bank Main Branch in Kampala District. The objectives examined, the relationship between occupational stress and employee engagement, establishing the relationship between occupational stress and job performance and assessing the relationship between employee engagement and job performance. Data was collected using a self-administered questionnaire and the study employed a sample of 58 respondents working at Tropical Bank.
A correlational study design was used and findings showed a positive significant relationship between occupational stress and employee engagement (r=.334**, P<0.05), a negative significant relationship between occupational stress and job performance (r= -.348**, P<0.01) and a positive significant relationship between employee engagement and job performance (r=.563**, P<0.01). It was therefore recommended that there is need to encourage employees to come up with stress management strategies so as to provide environment with mild stress which will translate into reduced employee stress, which will thus lead to employee job engagement. | en_US |
