    Abstract
The purpose of this project is to develop an updated Final Year Project System of the College of Computing and Information Technology in Makerere University. The Final Year Project System is used by the involved stakeholders i.e. students, supervisors, coordinators and panelists to manage the project throughout the course of its execution. It is therefore crucial that such a system aids the proper management of the final year project system. The incorporation of the improvements to the current system will extended the services offered by the system and improve the usefulness to the end users. Data was collected through interviews of the lecturers, questionnaires for majorly students and document reviewing of the existing systems. Analysis was used to summarize and make replicable and valid inferences by interpreting the data collected from the interviews from which the system requirements for the updated Final Year Project System were derived. Microsoft Visio, was used to design the architectures of the application in terms of Context Diagram, Data Flow Diagrams and Entity Relationship Diagrams. The application was implemented using the Laravel framework, MySQL for implementing the database and the web languages of HTML, JavaScript and Cascading Style Sheets. The project has resulted into the development of an updated Final Year Project System that satisfies the core needs of its different users by providing the required services. We recommend that the developed system is adopted by the College of Computing and Information Sciences.
