    Marketing strategy for Ministry of Health Lbrary

    Abstract
    The study aimed at exploring the marketing strategies utilized by the Ministry of Health Library Uganda. The study was based objectives which included; determining the main user services of Ministry of Health Library, to the current marketing strategies of user services in the Ministry of Health Library, to identify challenges facing the marketing user services of Ministry of Health Library and to develop marketing strategies to improve the utilization of user services of the Ministry of Health Library. The study employed exploratory survey design using both qualitative and quantitative approaches. The study used both interview and observation guide. Findings indicated that, there are current user services offered by the Ministry of Health Library with a mean (ii) of 3.2 and standard deviation (SD) of 0.56. The results also further indicated the user services offered by the as provide a suite of medical resources, information and service support to users in the medical and Para-medical fraternity. Findings also indicated that there is an effective marketing strategy as all the respondents 4 (100%) said yes. The findings revealed the challenges facing the marketing of Ministry of Health Library as; Infrastructure/technological challenges, funding challenges, Inadequate information data use culture and clientele challenges among others. Findings indicated that, there is need to improve the marketing strategy of the library services of the Ministry of health Library with 4 (100%) of the respondents saying yes and findings identified the marketing strategies that can be adopted to improve the use of library services in the Ministry of Health Library. The study provided recommendations among which included; there is need for the government to increase on funding to the Ministry of Health Library Uganda. There is need for public libraries to adapt more systematic and innovative approaches in determining user’s needs in order to design appropriate strategies and services to meet their wants and needs
