dc.description.abstract | This study sought to examine the relationship between socio-economic status, depression and domestic violence among pregnant women at Mulago Hospital, Kampala District. The study was aiming at achieving the following objectives; to find out whether socio-economic status influence depression among pregnant women, depression and domestic violence and also to examine the relationship between socio-economic status and domestic violence. A correlational study design was adopted in the study to determine the relationship between socio-economic status, depression and domestic violence among pregnant women at Mulago Hospital, Kampala District. Data was entered into a computer using Statistical Package of Social Scientists (SPSS). Findings of the study indicated that there is a significant negative relationship between socio-economic status and depression hence there is no relationship between socio-economic status and depression. There is a significant but weak positive relationship between depression and domestic violence hence there is relationship between depression and domestic violence. However, there is a significant positive relationship between socio-economic status and domestic violence. The researcher concluded that the findings show that there is a significant negative relationship between socio-economic status and depression among the pregnant women, and a significant but weak positive relationship between depression and domestic violence.
