    Working environment, employee motivation and happiness among Employees of Kawempe Police Station Kampala District

    Abstract
    The study examined the relationship between working environment, employee motivation and employee happiness of Kawempe Police Divisional Headquarters. It intended to achieve the following objectives; to find out whether working environment and employee happiness are related, to establish whether employee motivation and employee happiness are significantly related, to find out whether working environment and employee motivation are significantly related. A correlation study design was used to establish the relationship. Data was collected using self administered questionnaires and later analysed using Statistical Package for Social Scientists and the sample constituted of 92 respondents who gave responses for data analysis. The findings showed that there was no significant relationship between working environment and employee motivation, a positive relationship between working environment and employee happiness, a positive relationship between employee motivation and employee happiness. From the research, the researcher recommends that; the divisional police commander should ensure that factors which motivates workers are put in place for instance work place incentives, mentoring and training of employees, opportunity to apply new skills, support from top leaders and role congruity, by doing this, it will help to curb the challenge of employees being unhappy, ensuring that the working environment is decent with convenient office design and with enough space, room temperature all these makes employees to be motivated and happy on their duties.
