The effects of extreme wet weather on unpaved roads case study; Bubulo - Bududa circular road.

Abstract

Extreme events are generally rare events. The events cause the exceeding of maximum values and/or pre-existing (measured) high (low) thresholds of certain weather parameters and generate impacts that are harmful to any part of the transport system (infrastructures, operations, vehicles, passengers or cargo). exacerbate this trend. In the research we have used CHRS data portal to access wherever the population selected in the sample receives extreme weather. The effects of extreme weather that occur as a result of extreme weather are direct and indirect, they were collected through interviews with Eng. Shibale Tom , Engineering Department, Bududa District Local Government. Determining the strength of existing gravel along the road using the DCP instrument with permission from responsible bodies like Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA). The research consists of an analyzed result table of CBR obtained using the UK DCP software. These CBR results were classified basing on the strength class S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S6. Upon classification a summary and conclusion of the research are highlighted to improve on the condition and function of Bubulo Bududa circular road.
