Depression, peer pressure and risky sexual behavior among adolescents in St. Michael high school, Ssonde, Mukono.

Abstract

The study was conducted among secondary school students in Ssonde, Mukono district. The purpose of the study was to find whether Depression, Peer pressure and Risky sexual behavior are significantly related. The study used a sample of 60 students who participated in the study and standardized sets of questionnaires for each variable was used to gather the required information from the respondents. Hypotheses were tested by Pearson Correlation coefficiency using Microsoft Excel 2016 and the results revealed that there is no significance relationship between peer pressure and depression among students. The study also revealed that there is no significant relationship between peer pressure and risky sexual behavior and lastly the study revealed that there is no significant relationship between depression and risky sexual behavior among students in St. Micheal High School in Ssonde, Mukono district. Discussion of the results in relation to the literatures was presented in chapter five, recommendations and area for further research were indicated and references and citations clearly shown.
