Comics enhancing children learning (a case study new vision news paper magazine).
Abstract
The study was aimed at assessing whether children understand the characters and actions used
in the comics of the New Vision Newspaper Magazine. This is because some children interpret
things differently for instance the character may be walking and children interpret it as a
running character. This study will provide evidence as to why kids should read comic strips.
The significance of the study is mainly meant to help comic artists improve on areas where
more clarity is required to understand the comic stories they illustrate in terms of characters
and actions. Additionally, the significance of the study is to act as a referential value for future
researchers about the same topic.
The study used a qualitative and quantitative approaches of obtaining information. Data was
collected using focus group discussion conducted by the researcher and pupils of Makerere
primary school and 2 of their teachers, the interview guide that helped the researcher to get
information from the children and as well as the observer method which was also helpful. The
results will be presented using tables
