    Abstract
The purpose of the study was to find out how gender and age influence the levels of job satisfaction among staff members of Makerere University. The objectives of the study were to determine the levels of job satisfaction of Makerere University staff, to determine the influence of gender on job satisfaction, and to determine the influence of age on job satisfaction. The study adopted a comparative and correlation research designs with a sample size of seventy-two respondents. A Statistical Package for Social Scientists (SPSS) was used to analyse the data. A self-examined questionnaire was used as a tool to collect the data. Results indicated that gender does not significantly influence the levels of job satisfaction, but age significantly influences the levels of job satisfaction. In conclusion, job satisfaction can be affected by age but cannot be affected by gender. I recommend that organisations should consider age while trying to find out the levels of job satisfaction of employees but they should not consider gender while trying to find out the levels of job satisfaction.
