Employee assistance programs, resilience and turnover intentions among employees in Movit Products Limited
Abstract
The purpose of the study was to establish the relationship between employee assistance programs, resilience, and turnover intentions as well as their levels amongst employees at Movit Products Limited. The study investigated the relationship between employee assistance programs, turnover intentions, and resilience from the staff at Movit Products Limited with the use of questionnaires that were answered from different departments. A correlational research design was used to help understand the relationship between the three variables and with the use of the quantitative approach, the data from the questionnaires were analyzed. Simple random sampling was used to select the staff that participated in the exercise and data analysis involved frequencies, percentages, and inferential statistics such as correlations and coefficient of determination. The research findings were able to discover that there is a significant negative relationship between EAPs and Turnover Intentions and that there is a significant relationship between resilience and Turnover Intentions and finally that there is no significant relationship between EAPs and resilience. The researcher concludes that despite the proved linkage between Employee assistance programs and resilience, little efforts have been taken to explore the relationship in-depth to provide answers to instances in which employee levels of resilience have remained low despite the prevalence of these programs.
