Ethical leadership, employee engagement and job satisfaction of workers at Stanbic Bank
Abstract
The purpose of the study was to examined the relationship between ethical leadership, employee engagement and Job Satisfaction among workers at Stanbic Bank. This study pursued the following objectives. To examine the relationship between employee engagement and ethical leadership in an organization among workers at Stanbic Bank. To examine whether ethical leadership and job satisfaction are significantly related among workers at Stanbic Bank. To examine the relationship between employee engagement and job satisfaction among workers at Stanbic Bank. Results of the study show that there is no significant relationship between ethical leadership and employee engagement. The null is retained and its concluded that ethical leadership and employee engagement are not significantly related. From table 5 above ethical leadership is significantly and positively related to job satisfaction (r=0.55, p=0.01). I reject the null hypothesis and conclude that ethical leadership and job satisfaction are significantly related. From table 5 above there is no significant relationship between employee engagement and job satisfaction. Therefore, I retain the null hypothesis and conclude that employee engagement and job satisfaction are not significantly related. In conclusion, the study found that ethical leadership is significantly and positively related to job satisfaction. However, no significant relation was found between ethical leadership and employee engagement as well as job satisfaction.it was recommended that, there is need for Ethical Leadership so as to serve in a normatively appropriate conduct through personal actions and interpersonal relationships, and the promotion of such conduct. There is need for encouraging Employee Engagement in the organization in order to lift up employees who have different organizational values, those that lack a sense of ownership, those with different views.
