The effect of employee rewards on employee motivation and job satisfaction
Abstract
The purpose of the study was to examine the relationship between rewards, employee motivation and job satisfaction among the employees in Uganda Prison. The study intended to achieve the following objectives; to establish whether rewards and motivation are related, to find out whether motivation and job satisfaction are related and to establish whether rewards and job satisfaction are related. A cross sectional survey design using quantitative approach was adopted and data was collected from a sample of 80 employees. The researcher used Pearson product moment correlation coefficient (r) to test hypothesis 1, 2, and 3. The findings of the study revealed that there is a positive significant relationship between rewards, motivation and job satisfaction among employees. The researcher concluded that there is need to do more research on rewards, motivation and job satisfaction using more measurable means to create a wider dimension of the results.
