This report contains information on the design and construction of a lawn mower from locally available materials. This lawn mower is a rotary type consisting of two cutting blades each of same size, a rubbish collector and it is battery powered. It works on the principle of a combination of motor torque and angular momentum of the blades. Most of Ugandans have lawns, be it homes or workplaces and always have to incur high cost of hiring a person to cut their compounds or in importation of these grass cutting machines and in addition most of these machines emit fumes that are dangerous to the environment. The project report contains basic engineering terms with assumptions made and standard formula. In addition, there are basic principles of mechanical engineering which were used in design of major components of the lawn mower. It contains five chapters with each chapter well organized .References and a project time schedule were some of the information contained in project reporten_US
