Freedom of expression in Uganda in the digital era: an analysis of the limitations to this right

Abstract

Freedomofexpressionisacriticalaspectofhumanrightsandforthecreationofa platform for discussion, sharing and receiving information and for airing voices. In the digital age, this has been heightened by the development of technology that has made this easy. However, there must be a legal framework that protects this right, defines the limits of this entitlement, but also defines the limitation to this right. This is important for ensuring that any limitation does not present a threat to the right or completely violate the right.
