Analysis of the image of children in selected Runyankore proverbs

Abstract

This dissertation will explore the way children are presented in Ankore using proverbs, the different Runyankore proverbs that portray children and the cultural beliefs, values, values and attitudes towards children reflected in the proverbs. Different ways of the Banyankore will also be analyzed in regards to children. I believe that children mean a lot in the Banyankore community and so cannot be explored in just one way. This dissertation gives us the different ways of identifying children which I earlier referred to as images.
